Day 12. The players on the UX Team

UX designers

They take responsibility for guiding the entire UX process and keeping it aligned with the wants, needs, and pain points of the project's target users.

They oversee the creation of sketches, wireframes, prototypes and design mockups used to validate the design through various iterations.

They champion user-centric design, advocating for the user's perspective at every stage of the process.

UX researchers

Responsible for uncovering invaluable insights into user behavior and preferences.

Conduct systematic investigations, using qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as interviews, surveys, observations and usability testing, and analytics analysis.

They work closely with UX designers to develop research questions, design studies, analyze findings, and translate the insights they gather into actionable recommendations for the design team.

The researchers play a pivotal role in making sure the decisions made throughout the design process are grounded in user needs and evidence, which enables a user-centric approach to product development.

Visual and UI designers

The Visual/UI Designer takes responsibility for the way the site or app will look.

They follow visual design principles, including, fonts and typography, color theory, and layouts that capture and direct the users’ attention in polished and cohesive interfaces.

They collaborate closely with UX designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into engaging designs that align with the project's goals and target audience.

A visual/UI designer’s responsibilities include creating style guides, designing icons and graphics, and ensuring visual consistency across all aspects of the user interface.

Then, by incorporating feedback from stakeholders and usability testing, they go on to refine their designs as many times as necessary to achieve the optimal balance of aesthetics and usability.

Content strategists

They develop the narrative that guides users through their digital journey.

Content strategists shape the user experience by crafting compelling and coherent content that informs, guides, and engages users.

They work closely with UX designers, UX researchers, and Visual/UI designers so that all of the content they produce aligns with the overall design vision and user needs.

Their specific responsibilities include developing content strategies, creating content frameworks, writing copy for various digital touchpoints, and optimizing content for search engines and accessibility.

They also conduct content audits, analyze user behavior, and refine content based on user feedback to continuously improve the user experience.
